One of the best runs for a long time! Varied scenery including woods, bamboo thickets, main road, sugar cane, narrow paths, wide tracks, rivers, etc etc. The only disappointment – no real dirty rubbish dump! Also a good distance but with a couple of wimp’s trails. What more could we desire ? Oh yes there is one thing – a beer stop. We let them off because of under age considerations.

Smelly Blue T Shirt:
Merete refused to bring it back because she maintains that it is too smelly for Eric to wear!
(It is only two months old, what will she think by the end of the year ?)
Children’s Award:
Sophie kissed Marcus and thereby obtained the award.
Fashion Show:
There were some well dressed Hashers present so a fashion parade was organised. “Curly Top”, Andy, “Fudg Packer”, Pirrot Philio, Sybille were called to parade before an appreciative crowd. After the last “model” had paraded, Scuba (Eric’s dog) joined in and walked away with the first prize!
Hash Food:
A big Thank You to Phil & Irene for the delicious BBQ. Well done to the newcomers.
Notices:
1. Would hashers please note that there is a deposit (money) on glass bottles (beer, softies)! Please do not throw them away with the rubbish.
2. We are planning an end of year “Hash Bash” which will be held at MUG on 28th December(evening). Keep the date free!
3. We hope to have a special Hash on 29th December at FUEL. Special meal etc.
Cost about Rs 100 per head. Watch this space for details.

“Mathew Flinders Hash”, at Hunting Lodge of Mr Jean Roland Desvaux, Macondé.
Take the South coast road past Le Morne towards East (Bel Ombre etc).
Macondé is about 2 1/2 kms past Le Morne.
At estuary of Macondé river, middle of the bay, look for Hash signs leading into a dirt road past a lime factory (green building). Look for the hunting lodge.
Note that you may also approach this area from Bassin Blanc road via Chemin Grenier (look out for masked gangs!) or via Plaine Champagne, Chamarel, Baie du Cap.
Leave early, it is a long way.
