Mauritius Hash Trash 347
07-10-2001 Balaclava Tony Barnacle Bill & Eric Hotdog #347
Run on the beach near Oberoi Hotel, Pt aux Piments. Hares Tony “Barnacle Bill” & Eric “Hotdog”. The proceedings started with a singing lesson by “Barnacle Bill” who thought it may be useful for us to learn some military tunes in case we get “called for service” soon. He is getting quite handy with his horn! The run wasn’t bad with a selection of sugar fields, roads, etc. Flat, dry but no mountains or rubbish dumps. It came to a climax with a beer stop (locked up in a car for safety!), followed by a walk back home on the beach in front of several hotels This provided an excellent view of sun bathers, (more than 50% were topless!), specially organised for us by our Sex Adviser!
The marking however caused a few comments due to (a) use of Hotdog’s own code, (b) marks variously on right and left of trail & (c) false trails set on almost every path, track, road etc, etc. Logic also appeared to be a little in short supply even when we were supposed to follow a straight line. “A real Hash !” insisted “Hotdog”. [Editors comment: How did the Vikings ever find America ?] Oh well, it is said that you only need half a mind to become a Hasher, I suppose it only takes a quarter to set a Hash ! The confusion kept the pack togeather anyway. A great day was had by all with an excellent “circle”.
Our thanks to Penny and Merete for providing the food.

Smelly toilet seat award:
To David for comming late ! (did Juliette have something to do with it ?)
Geeta’s corner. Tinkerbel, our fashion adviser, decided to go back to basics with a nappy changing contest. Five male babies (HotDog, Cupid, Hot Pants, Barnacle Bill, Garry) were laid on the ground. Five “mothers” were then appointed to fix them up with nappies and baby powder. Barnacle Bill had borrowed Geeta’s block of ice to prevent himself from getting too excited. The ice melted and mixed nicely with the powder (if the other diplomats could have see him !). Brenda displayed her prowess by “pinning up” Hot Dog in record time. The general state of the end results left something to be desired but all the babies were presented with bibs and the winning baby was given a bottle of sweet orange juce to suck. Baby “HotDog” was allowed to sit on his mother’s lap to drink it.
