Mauritius Hash Trash 353
30-12-2001 Tamarin Jean-françois And Brigitte #353
Run from Tamarin beach in the direction of the “Tourelle de Tamarin” mountain. Hares Jean-François and Brigitte. A nice, hot and rather strenuous run, passing under the main road, through a new morcellement and half way up the side of the local mountain. Unfortunately, half of the Hashers chickened out and short-cut the second ascension of the mountain side.
The run also included a nice rubbish dump and a sticky/slippery drainage canal. A detour across the river estuary got missed by all because the tide had risen and washed away the markings.
Many thanks to the hares, Kevin & Brigitte for the food, Charlie & Charlotte for taking care of the T shirt sales and all those other unsung heroes who always help with various duties (ice, soft drinks, beer, BBQ equipment). Kevin stood in as Master.
First Timers (Virgins):
Anders “Bird Shit” Bergdahl on holiday from India.
Second Timers:
Nathan (Brian Wright’s nephew)
RA (Blob as stand in): Down, downs awarded to:-

Alan, Bob & Clarance, all for talking or interrupting the Master while he was trying to entertain the crowd.

News:
(1). There has been some discussion about whether we should hold our Hash meetings at another time. The two alternative suggestions are Saturday PM or Sunday PM.
Sunday afternoon would have the advantages that people could go to church or lay in bed in the morning. It would also afford more time for the hares to lay the trail in the morning. The opinion of all Hashers is requested. Please Email me with your opinions ASAP. ( russell@intnet.mu )
(2). Our visiter from India (Bird shit) reminded all Hashers about the Inter-Hash to be held in Goa, India next year. Details are available on their web site click here to go to the site:( http://www.goa2002.com/ ) .
Directions to next Hash to be held at 10am on 13th January 2002
The Hash will take place near the La Ferme reservoir.
Take the Port Louis-Bambous-Black River road A3.
From Port Louis: after the second junction to Albion (on your right) at PK 20, take the road on your left towards Mont Roches (clearly indicated).
From Bambous: take the same road towards Mont Roches on your right
After two sharp bends on this road, slow down, the Saint Martin Cemetery should be on your right, turn right immediately after the cemetery, along the wall of the cemetery towards SODIA cattle farm (clear sign board), drive trough the cattle farm. 2 km after the cemetery turn right at the next junction, following the “Fish Farm” sign. You will soon see the Hash Signs. On-OnNote for those familiar with the Rose Hill outskirts only: The St Martin Cemetery may be reached directly from Rose Hill as well. Alternatively there is a road running down from Stanley directly to La Ferme reservoir, around the Corps de Garde. This road arrives at the “Fish Farm” junction above.
