Hares Front and Centre ! J&B Russell, our Hares of the day, were summoned by the GM to face their trial, as per Hash rules.
They had prepared for us a nice warm Hash at the foot of Signal mountain. It would appear that the rain played a dirty trick on them and they had to remark the trail early that morning. Poor things!
Their efforts were not wasted though, as all of us seemed to enjoy the day – particularly those coming from the Plateau. Such a relief from the wet and dreary weather!
What about the trail itself? – the vital ingredient of the Hash (for some of us anyway!). Well, it was judged to be of good length, clearly marked, negotiable hills, Whimps friendly, nice view of the Capital and one that guaranteed to lead the pack safely Home. A verdict of 8/10 was awarded.
Well done J&B. More! More!

There were no candidates for this ceremony. So, “pour combler ce trou”, the GM had to take a Down Down. A good suggestion from the Grand Mistress!

Jackie with great delight slipped the above onto Charlotte. When little Stewart asked his mummy why is there Poo on Jackie’s T Shirt., Mummy replied:- “She used it to wipe her bottom when she went to the toilet” in full and clear hearing of Jackie ! So there ! It’s your turn charlotte!
Children’s Award:
Like the Olympic flame, the Kiddie’s Hash Award was carried back by Kiddy Keith who passed it on to Stewart Scrimgeour.
GM’s Comment:
The GM Commented on the liberal style of the scribe – as a build up to a joke that he had carefully prepared. Sadly though, thinking he was being offensive the scribe got on the defensive all too quickly, thus defusing the whole exercise! Shame!! Sorry GM. Next time.

Take the motorway from Curepipe towards the airport.
After Nouvelle France, take the 4th turning to the right towards Gros Bois and L’Escalier.
Turn right at the end of this road and travel through L’Escalier.
After L’Escalier you will go over a long, narrow bridge.
About 0.5 km from the bridge, look for the large banyan trees over the road, where there will be a HASH sign turning you left into the Savannah Sugar Estate.
Follow the signs.
Children will be able to see chickens, pigs and sheep, but adults will be too busy running!!
