The views from the summit here down on all sides were superb. So blue the sea, so clear the sky that the two simply melded in the distance. Clear skies meant full sun: no better way to enjoy an ice cool phoenix after a run.
The hash was educational. We had to be on our toes about our left and rights as there was more comings and goings than in a roman orgy. Hence the name – back check:check back. We also learned a bunch of new signs, arrows in a circle on the ground. Where I come from that means re-cycling, which, I suppose was what we were doing with the trail.
After a few goes of this the wiser, lazier, hashers cottoned on and took to cheering the FRBs as they were running past again…and again.
The hash circle was more quiet than a City fan sitting by accident in the United end: so much so that the GM had to shout even more loudly just to create some noise to ask people to be quiet. Perhaps attracted by the racket some Police turned off the road, caught sight of a large bearded Scot wearing a blue hare on his head, and some other loony in a brightly coloured hat waving his knob-ended staff around, and quickly turned round and left again. Clearly this was something beyond their training. I kept expecting the Special Mobile Force to arrive.

There was a big cheer of thanks for Fazila’s food – up to her usual standards of excellence and hugely appreciated by everyone. Many thanks!

Jimmy
News in from Jimmy. He wasn’t here last time as he’s been caught in freak weather conditions in Scotland. For nigh a month he’s been sitting in his wee. Sorry, can’t read my own notes..sitting in his wee cottage trapped by a snowdrift so large that only the chimney sticks out from the top. Mercifully, rescuers finally reached his remote home and called down the chimney “Are you there Jimmy?”
“Who’s there?” came the reply.
“ ‘Tis the Red Cross, Jimmy.”
“Ach, go away!” came the shout “I gave last year.”
