Before the Run:
Hot! Hot! Hot! Many wondered whether to go on or not. The majority did. The rest stayed and chose to enjoy the serene surroundings the McVeays kindly trusted us with.

The Run:
Kay thought that all the Hashers were as fit as herself, and there were no boxes over a run of “6 – 8 km” (quote). We endured long stretches of open roads at the mercy of intolerable heat. There was a short stretch of semi-shade and a spray which was appreciated by all and a much welcomed relief. We were also grateful for the viewpoint out to sea – an excuse to catch our breath.

The Circle

First timers:
Marinette, Viv (after 35 years in Mauritius), Denise, Amandire, Martin, Ladysoys.

Second timers:
There were no second timers, so the GM had a down-down.

RA:
The RA told of a joke about tipping the postman.
He then gave a Down-Down to Adrienne for following the Hashers round the trail in her Toyota Rav, and smiling at everyone as they sweated around the course.

Cowbell (or Hash Hostage):
The holder, Ryan, gave it to Pierre Andre for wearing a Bafana Bafana shirt when he wasn’t a South African citizen.

GM:
The GM gave a short wedding ceremony to our recent newly weds!
He also gave a few D-Ds to some Returners: Kevin Morgan, Claudia and Brian.

Birthday Girl…was Anabelle- who is actually 20 + 6 on Monday.
