Hash #381 held on 23rd February 2003
Hare(s):
Jackie & Bob
Venue: Floreal
Virgins: Liam and Brid - Irish, living in England, on holiday
in Mauritius.
Second Timers: Doreen from Phoenix Breweries.
Returners: I don't recall anyone coming back. Hard luck
GM!
On On:
Hare Front and Centre: "Mo fatigueee" was the welcoming line from
Lord Russell, our dear Hare for the day. Apparently he and Lady
Russell had been at it from the early hours, slaving away, going
up and down and round to make it worth our while leaving our beds
early on a Sunday morning.
We left the bald patch (On On site) so carefully carved out of the
grass by the hares, in the sweltering heat, well imbued with sunblock.
We had a hill start through the affluent streets of Floreal, three
quarters of the way up to the crater, before disappearing, for a
while in virgin forest and down to Vacoas (almost). It was nice
to see how the other half lives. As the GM quite rightly remarked
"Now we know where all the money from MCB went !"
Back to the run. Well since Lord Russell found out what "shiggy"
meant, he made sure there was plenty of it. Ouf! Going up those
hills were not so easy. Luckily we had the tall grass to pull ourselves
up with.
Some clever tog had the wild imagination of carrying a brollie on
the run. Came in handy when negotiating those Shiggy hills, up and
down. Our sojourn in the wild was a pleasant experience. We welcomed
the coolness and shelter it offered. No need to mention the relief
brought by the beer stop, for those who drink beer and were lucky
to be among the first 12 to reach it.
On leaving the forest we were led back home through yet another
hill. Some tongues were hanging by then.
Luckily the On On was just looming in the corner! Home sweet Home!
Everyone was pleased to be Home and pleased to have made the effort
of coming to the Hash. There was a good crowd and a convivial atmosphere
all round. Thank you Lord and Lady Russell for another well planned
trail. When is your next one?!
RA's Down's Down's: Theme - War
Andy for looking like a squaddy (private) with a new hair style.
Pieter for bringing a war element to the Hash in the form of a simulated
landmine. i.e. dog's poo!
Anand for sporting the symbolic colour for Cowardice in war…….Yellow.
Eric for being a spy, whispering sweet nothings into the RA's ear
about somebody's birthday.
Ray was NOT given a down-down as he was not worthy, after failing
his leadership duties in SAS practice the previous week.
Jackie for displaying courage at this same SAS training and was
awarded the Hash VC: a downy.
Smelly Blue T Shirt:
Pratima elected squaddy to wear the T shirt, for his skinhead impersonation.
No objection. He went down on his knees in front of her and even
asked for more!
Children's Award: Forever missing..
Hash Food:
Many, many thanks to Geeta and Tom for those succulent roast chickens
and salad.
Scribe: CoffeeMate OnOn!
